Every year since 1845, Tiffany & Co. has sent a glossy catalog of dazzling one-of-a-kind jewelry masterpieces to its VIP customer list around the world: The Tiffany Blue Book Collection. Appearing in October, in plenty of time for the holiday shopping, the couture jewels of the Blue Book are rare, exclusive, and price-on-request expensive. Under the direction new Tiffany & Co. chief artistic officer, Reed Krakoff, the 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection is considered by many jewelry insiders to be the most exquisite and dynamic collection in decades. Let’s take a closer look.
A Man for All Seasons
“The Tiffany Blue Book Collection serves as a laboratory for developing groundbreaking concepts that will one day make their way into new collections,” said Krakoff in a press release. “It’s where our most creative, experimental and innovative ideas begin.” This year’s collection, entitled “The Four Seasons of Tiffany,” means that four separate collections may indeed spin off from the 2018 Tiffany Blue Book, starring the sparkling diamonds Tiffany is best known for, and a myriad of colorful gemstones as well.
The Four Seasons of Tiffany
The 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection jewels of Winter star diamonds cut like pieces of ice, while the Autumn category features sparkling vine-like motifs.
Spring, not surprisingly, celebrates fabulous floral designs, and Summer is all about diamond-studded moths and baby butterflies.
Turning the Red Carpet Blue
Krakoff launched his first Tiffany Blue Book Collection on October 9, with a gala party at the New York flagship store. Kim Kardashian West led a star-studded lineup of celebrities (see top photo), including Tiffany & Co. brand ambassador, Zoe Kravitz. The lucky A-Listers modeled the extraordinary Blue Book jewels for an invitation-only crowd of loyal Tiffany & Co. clients.
Kim K. wore a stunning choker featuring 10 carats of diamonds and 68 carats of aquamarines, and a handful of Tiffany diamond rings. Mary J. Blige also donned aquamarines, a pair of long drop earrings with diamonds.
Tiffany spokeswoman Zoe Kravitz chose spectacular diamond baguette circle earrings, while Priyanka Chopra, who recently received a Tiffany diamond engagement ring from Nick Jonas, wore a platinum and 18K gold necklace to the party.
