From the moment Beyoncé arrived at the VMAs with her adorable daughter Blue Ivy, you knew it was going to be a red carpet night to remember. Queen Bey stunned in a seafoam green couture gown by Francesco Scognamiglioa, with spectacular diamond and emerald earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. Blue Ivy wore a gold tulle princess dress with blinged-out sneakers and a diamond halo tiara. From OBJ’s perspective, the dazzling mother-daughter duo clinched the category of Best Jewelry at the 2016 Video Music Awards. Let’s take a closer look.
PeopleStyleWatch.com reported that VMAs veteran Beyoncé wore $12,580,000 in diamonds spread across just four pieces of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, including a $1.8 million Colombian emerald, Fancy Intense Pink diamond and paraiba earrings, a $9 million 12-carat Fancy Pink diamond ring, a $1.5 million 20-carat wraparound diamond ring, and a marquise and pear-shape diamond ring worth $280,000.
It was Blue Ivy’s debut on the VMAs carpet, unless you count 2011 when Beyoncé famously unveiled her baby bump on stage. The four-year-old’s diamond tiara, also by Lorraine Schwartz, is sure to start a trend among preschoolers, forever giving the phrase “Toddlers and Tiaras” a whole new meaning!
For her performance Beyoncé changed into a flowing white Ralph & Russo gown with a cape worn over a black Francesco Scognamiglio couture bodysuit and black knee-high boots. To accept her awards she wore a gold Elie Saab couture jumpsuit with matching cape (for Best Female Video) and an ethereal white lace Yolanda Kris gown (for her Video of the Year win). Each of these looks was accessorized by dramatic statement earrings, which stood out against her swept-back hair.
