Star Wars and the Power of Costume –The Exhibition, NYC

Are you planning a trip to New York City this spring or summer? Don’t miss the ongoing exhibit at Discovery Times Square entitled Star Wars and the Power of Costume –The Exhibition. Whether or not you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll be amazed by this costume, accessories and jewelry exhibit from George Lucas and his team of concept artists and costume designers.

The exhibition includes 70 original costumes worn in the various Star Wars films, complete with their accompanying swords, shields, breastplates, necklaces, crowns, amulets and armbands. It also features quotes from Lucas, artist sketches and costumers’ notes, offering a behind-the-scenes peek at the Star Wars franchise.

Les Journées Particulières, Throughout Europe

If your travel plans happen take you abroad the weekend of May 20-22, the LVMH Group of luxury brands invites you to enter the inner sanctums of 40 of its “Houses” during Les Journées Particulières open days. Following the overwhelming success of the first two editions – both of which welcomed over 100,000 visitors – more than 50 sites in France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Poland the United Kingdom will be opened to the public, some of them for the first time.

LVMH luxury product Houses, including Louis Vuitton, TAG Heuer, Guerlain, Moët & Chandon, Le Bon Marché and others, will be taking part in the 2016 edition of Les Journées Particulières.

Some sites are well known, such as the Christian Dior salons on Avenue Montaigne in Paris or the Louis Vuitton workshops in Asnières. Others will be open for the first time, among them: Fort Chabrol, Moët & Chandon’s viticulture and oenological research institute in Épernay; Fendi headquarters at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome; the Moynat workshop in Paris; and the Loro Piana woolen spinning mill in Roccapietra, in Italy’s Piedmont region.
