Cool Summer Blues: New Nudo and Bonbon Rings We Love
The iconic Nudo ring (“nude” in Italian) has long been a bestseller for the Milan-based Pomellato Fine Jewelry company. I am personally obsessed with blue Nudo rings and dream of stacking them in trios in different oceanic shades. But to be honest, the minimalist Nudos (some with diamonds) are priced way out of my comfort zone. Happily, I have discovered a new single-stone ring design which is just as collectible and more affordable: the Bonbon Ring by longtime friend of OBJ, Emily Kuvin.
Let’s take a look at both collections.

The 18K gold Nudo Deep Blue ring collection is a new series featuring three unusual stone combinations evoking the summer skies and waterways: sky blue topaz with agate, London blue topaz with lapis, and London blue topaz with turquoise. They start at $1,500, and many are priced in the mid-thousands..
According to the company’s ambassadors, the collection was “inspired by the infinite blue hues of the Mediterranean” and “pays tribute to Italy’s iconic coastline.”

Pomellato is currently building on the “naked splendor” of its popular Nudo collections, branching out into sautoir necklaces with the same “nude” stone settings that have made the brand such a hit.

I first interviewed Emily Kuvin in 2017, when I wrote a post about her colorful Stella collection. Today, Emily’s jewelry business is thriving…on her website, at specialty boutiques, and through a curated assortment available on 1stdibs.com.

“I’m delighted to introduce our new Bonbon Rings from our soon-to-debut Chroma Collection,” Emily told me recently from her New Hampshire studio. “These rings epitomize my clean, modern design aesthetic…and they are so much fun to stack! There are many more colors to come and we can’t wait to show you the rest of our Chroma Collection,” she added.

The classic yet contemporary design of Emily Kuvin’s Bonbon Ring is timeless. These wearable, stackable rings are punctuated with pops of pure color…just begging to be collected.
Crafted in14K gold, Bonbons start at $500 and are priced according to the gemstone. Some are in inventory, but most are made to order (allow four to six weeks for delivery).
At this price point I believe I will be able to create the cool blue stack I’ve been craving all summer!
