Onyx is a smooth, elegant gemstone often seen in black, sometimes with white streaks. It is a type of chalcedony with a waxy to vitreous luster and should be treated with care to protect its polished surface from scratches, chemicals, and sharp blows.

The best way to clean onyx jewelry is to use Connoisseurs Delicate Jewelry Cleaner. This ammonia-free formula is ideal for semi-precious and delicate gemstones. Connoisseurs Jewelry Cleansing Foam is also recommended for a gentle, all-purpose clean.

Connoisseurs Tip: Avoid exposing onyx to harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, or prolonged soaking. After cleaning, gently wipe with a damp cloth and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. We do not recommend ultrasonic cleaning for onyx jewelry.
