With the holidays approaching, NationalJeweler.com reports that shoppers are keeping a close eye on the budget this year. So jewelry and department stores are stocking up on unique pieces that deliver maximum impact at an affordable price – especially in sterling silver! Here are four sterling silver trends and selections National Jeweler predicts will be big hits this holiday season. (As well as one stunning new bracelet I am hoping to see under my tree – hint, hint.)
Black and white. Always in style, black and white is trending this winter in fashions and jewelry. Rotenier’s sterling silver and carved black onyx cufflinks ($695) will make a graphic statement on his best white shirts.
Long and lovely. Long necklaces, worn alone or layered, are graceful and super slimming. Tacori’s 38-inch sterling silver chain with onyx stations ($550) takes black-with-everything to new lengths.
Avant-garde. Sculptural rings…unusual cuffs…mismatched earrings…look for unique statement pieces to maximize your holiday investment. Brady Legler’s sterling silver Guitar Pick ring with white diamonds is pitch perfect ($975).
Drop-dead gorgeous earrings. When have you ever seen an OBJ trend report that didn’t include drop earrings? National Jeweler picked Lyon Fine Jewelry’s black rhodium-plated sterling silver Sioux earrings with black pavé diamonds ($800). Love the fringe.
My personal fave. Tacori has unveiled its new Promise bracelet, a sterling silver design it created in collaboration with fashion blogger Wendy Nguyen. The bracelet includes a special stainless steel key, which symbolizes the promise made; it is used to fasten and unfasten the beautiful bracelet (from $690). I promise to wear it every day!
Check out a behind-the-scenes video on the making of the Promise bracelet, and a short film by Nguyen called “The Promise,” which follows the journey of one couple.
