When you consider all the skin displayed at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on August 30, you might ask yourself if anyone actually noticed the jewelry. Yet there were some standout pieces on the VMAs red carpet, and a few that contributed to the outrageous costumes on stage. Let’s take a look:

Designers from Jeremy Scott to Atelier Versace one-upped each other trying to reveal less and less of host Miley Cyrus. In the photo above, Miley’s Lorraine Schwartz diamond shoulder-duster earrings are almost as long as her Mylar leotard!

According to, Vanessa Hudgens wore 28 separate pieces of jewelry when she arrived at the VMAs on the arm of her sister. Giving new meaning to the layered look, Hudgens donned rings on every finger, multiple necklaces, stacked diamond bracelets, and large hoop earrings. The overall effect was stunning.

OBJ’s Best Dressed award goes to Hailee Steinfeld, who zigged when everyone else zagged. Her white Stella McCartney jumpsuit stood out from the pack of bare-down-to-there numbers. The golden neck cuff by Jennifer Fisher added just the right amount of bling.

What a night!
