Earlier this summer W magazine reported: “If quirky micro-influencers and gallery girls populate your Instagram feed, then the mismatched earrings trend might feel like old news. But for the rest of the population, including Gigi Hadid, it’s just gaining momentum.” Wait, you mean fabulous young supermodels are just like us? So late to the mismatched earring party we’re afraid we’ve missed the whole trend? Let’s explore Gigi Hadid’s jewelry style, earrings and more, and learn how to rock her favorite looks on a real-girl budget.
Gigi Mixes and Matches
According to W, Gigi turned heads at Paris Fashion Week in a long dangling earring with an actual toy car (!) suspended from it. She “paired” it with another completely different earring: a drop pearl by Adornmonde.
The Zoe Report added that Adornmonde’s freshwater pearl and gold-tone earrings (above) are Gigi’s favorites. Sometime she wears the set of four in classic pairs, sometimes she mixes them up for an asymmetrical look.
“They’re not only super on-trend for summer 2019 (read: pearl-adorned anything is huge this season), but they’re also quite affordable, too,” wrote Rachel Zoe and her team.
Look for the pearl and gold combo to be even bigger this fall. Gigi’s Fortune Gold Freshwater Pearl Earring Set is available for $138 at adornmonde.com. The mix and match possibilities are so worth it!
She Loves Her Layers
Off duty and on, Gigi Hadid’s jewelry style runs to multiple chain-link necklaces layered in different weights. She appeared at the August 26 MTV Video Music Awards in a long 22K gold chain by designer Eli Halili. It looks like she wrapped it twice around her neck.
Another necklace that Gigi has been wearing on repeat is the Missoma Gold Axiom Chain; it’s $214 at missoma.com. While I love this style, I might mix it with a chunkier version I found at Nordstrom for a fraction of the price. The gold-tone Double Link Collar Necklace by Halogen is only $39.
An Eye for an Eye
Gigi likes to mix charms and talismans with her chain collection. A case in point is her Jacquie Aiche Turquoise Inlay Eye Necklace, which she’s been wearing on dates with The Bachelorette’s Tyler Cameron.
Gigi’s 14K gold and diamond designer necklace retails for $8,000, which is fine if you’re the international “face” of Messika, Michael Kors, Maybelline and more.
As for real girls like us, check out the Gold-tone Evil Eye Necklace from Llona & Lilly; it has a similar vibe for a mere $28. I plan on making it my signature pendant for fall.
