The Chinese Lunar New Year begins January 28, 2017, and continues through February 12, 2018. This year, 2017, is called the Year of the Rooster. The Rooster is the tenth of 12 animals featured in the Chinese zodiac. Each year is related to an animal sign according to a 12-year cycle. Years of the Rooster include 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, and 2029.
