Eva Fehren Jewelry was founded in 2011 by designer-artist Eva Zuckerman and her business partner Ann Gorga. Best known for her signature (and often imitated) diamond X ring, Zuckerman has become a darling of fashion editors, bloggers, and Insta-fans of fine jewelry everywhere. Her feminine yet edgy creations are instantly recognizable and eminently wearable. Let’s learn all about Eva.
A New York State of Mind
Eva Fehren Zuckerman studied Fine Arts at The Cooper Union in Manhattan, going back and forth between painting and jewelry. She has said that she is influenced by the industrial, architectural and geometric elements of her native New York: icons such as the Chrysler Building, crisscrossed power lines, and the streets and sidewalks of the West Village, where she was raised.
“I’m driven by the energy of New York City, the everyday and the juxtaposition of grit and grandiose beauty. I love diamonds that look like cement,” says Eva on her website.
X Marks the Spot
Known for their exacting craftsmanship and exceptional wearability, the pieces in the Eva Fehren collection are handcrafted using 18K gold paired with precious materials such as custom-cut geometric white diamonds, grey diamonds and opaque sapphires.
But it is Eva’s X ring that put her on the map; it is the undisputed star of the Eva Fehren collection.
“I had this idea in my mind for the ‘perfect shape,’ something that felt perfect to me and symmetrical and iconic,” Eva told The New York Times. “It was with those parameters in mind that I came up with the X ring. That was really the jumping-off point for my entire collection,” she said.
Today, there are many variations of the Eva Fehren X style, including the XX ring (a double band), and X-shaped cuffs and earrings. Celebrities, supermodels and pop stars have been photographed wearing Eva’s X-style pieces. Her White Collection employs the X motif in contemporary yet classic engagement ring designs.
There’s no doubt about it, Eva Fehren jewelry is on a roll. Last year Eva was named runner-up for the prestigious CFDA Swarovski Accessory Designer of the Year Award. She also collaborated on a capsule collection with retailer J. Crew. Since the start of 2016, Eva’s line has been featured in no less than 18 major magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Brides, Glamour, Elle, New York, and InStyle.
The new Eva Fehren Trillion Ring, with its trillion-cut (triangle-shaped) diamond is yet another expression of Eva’s love of geometric forms. National Jeweler just featured it as one of the hot engagement ring styles of the season.
Young, talented and wildly successful, Eva Fehren Zuckerman is all about what’s relevant – and fabulous – for today’s 21st-century women.
