They may be forecasting snow where you live this week, but, ready or not, spring officially begins on Monday, March 20. Here are five of our favorite spring jewelry trends to help get you in the mood right now.
Pretty in Pink
Designers were thinking pink at the spring Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture collections this year. Pink, in all its many splendored shades, dominated the catwalks in solids, prints and accessories.

Even if you’ll never make pink your go-to color, you can rock this spring trend with a pink cocktail ring. This pastel pink opal and diamond ring from Rock and Gems Fine Jewelry is a beautiful example ($5,500). Look for similar styles at more modest prices to keep your jewelry collection in the pink.

Butterflies, Birds and Bees
Garden party prints are everywhere this season, including all manner of winged creature motifs. Accessories makers are using 3D appliques and embroidered touches, and jewelry designers are celebrating the species in earrings, brooches, necklaces and more.
At OBJ, we’ve been talking about the birds and the bees for a couple of seasons, but it looks like a full-fledged trend has finally emerged. Don’t miss our March Giveaway announcement next week for your chance to win a silver Beehive Bangle by Dorfman Sterling.

What’s All the Hoopla?
Everyone knows about the fashion power of hoop earrings; this season they’re taking some twists and turns for the better. Some are sculptural, some are hoops within hoops, while others are elongated or squared off for a geometric look. Shop for two-tone hoops to help stretch your jewelry wardrobe. They’ll work double duty with all your gold and silver pieces for spring…and beyond.
Fan-tastic

According to a top jewelry journal, the fan motif (as in a handheld fan) is the shape of the season. “Few motifs in jewelry can rival the handheld fan—which originated in ancient Egypt, India, and China—for sheer elegance and femininity,” JCK magazine reports this month.

Fan-like jewelry is popping up on runways and red carpets, and at jewelry and department stores. We think it all started with the Bulgari Divas’ Dreams collection last year. Now this fan-favorite style is available at every price point.
Head-to-Toe Chanel
Okay, this is absolutely our favorite find of the season, a style everyone will be wearing by summer. Karl Lagerfeld accessorized every luscious look at his Chanel Spring ’17 Haute Couture show with a whimsical pearl ankle bracelet, his only nod to jewelry. The effect was thoroughly young and modern…a throwback style done in a whole new way.
