Let’s face it…we’re all about squeezing the last rays from the remaining days of summer. But we’re also multitaskers; we know it’s time to hit refresh on our fall jewelry wardrobes and to buy some key pieces for the season ahead. Here are five top jewelry trends for Fall 2017, including a few new spins on old standbys that may be hiding in your jewelry box. Dazzle on!
Berets with Brooches

Editors and influencers agree that one of the key accessories this fall is the beret. Seen on runways from New York to Paris, the classic Parisian-style topper looks especially cool when tricked out with bejeweled brooches. Gather yours up and start pinning.
Statement Sleeves and Earrings

As the emphasis moves from off-the-shoulder tops to statement sleeves, you may want to provide balance with a pair of statement earrings. Think long and linear, loopy and sculptural, or all-drop styles. Save the chandeliers for night…and avoid wearing statement necklaces with big earrings…too much of a good thing.
Long Florals and Longer Necklaces

The September issues are loaded with dark floral dresses for fall…most of them long. Maxi and midi dresses call for longer necklaces…layered chains, lariats, pendants, and pearls. Consider those retro chain belts lurking in your closet…wear them around your neck for a completely new look.
Rib Knits and Bold Cuffs

Right: Loree Rodken Maltese Cross Cuff, $22.97 on ebay.com.
Heavier fabrics demand bolder jewelry. Invest in one or two wide cuff bracelets to offset fall’s nubby knits and ribbed sweaters. We found fabulously luxe (and expensive) cuffs by Cabana on Moda Operandi. You can get this designer look for far less on eBay or BaubleBar.com.
Luscious Velvets and Cocktail Rings

Right: Pearly Sun Star Statement Cocktail Ring by Oscar de la Renta, $190, on shopbazaar.com.
Last but not least, add a little drama to your fall/winter wardrobe with velvet. In addition to traditional jewel tones, this season’s velvets come in a rainbow of pastel and bright colors. Wear a velvet jacket with jeans or tweeds for day, or try a velvet jumpsuit as an alternative to a party dress. And by all means, treat yourself to at least one new cocktail ring, a glamorous must-have for the holidays ahead!
