Did you know that three of your favorite style icons design jewelry? While many top models pose in ad campaigns for famous jewelry brands, a few have actually collaborated on their own collections. Gigi Hadid has a self-named line for Fine Jewelry house Messika of Paris; Kendall Jenner works with Italian jeweler Ippolita; and Bella Hadid partnered last year with American brand Chrome Hearts. Let’s take a closer look at the jewelry collections by Gigi Hadid, her sister Bella, and Kendall Jenner.
Gigi Hadid for Messika
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Move collection, Maison Messika teamed up with Gigi Hadid on the Move High Jewelry Addiction Collection. According to Creative Director Valerie Messika, the jewelry is graphic, rebellious, and, well, addictive!
Gigi’s collection features a dozen fabulous pieces in 18K gold or sterling silver with floating diamonds, starting at $990 (and moving north to six figures!). At the October, 2017 launch party during Paris Fashion Week, she wore her Addiction choker, ring and ear cuff, all in 18K white gold embellished with diamonds.
“We had so much fun,” Gigi told The Hollywood Reporter. “I love getting into creative experiences in which I get to learn something new and challenge myself. Valerie just got me, and I think we have very similar styles in just wanting our diamonds to work for us on an everyday basis. Obviously we can glam it up like tonight, but we just want to be able to put great diamonds with jeans and a T-shirt, and for it to make sense of our life.”
Kendall Jenner for Ippolita
Kendall Jenner launched a line of Fine Jewelry for Ippolita in the fall of 2017, and sales have skyrocketed ever since. A campaign starring Kendall, titled “It’s in the I,” explored the story of individual style, celebrating the fact that we each have our own unique point of view.
Chief Creative Director Ippolita Rostagno says she’s inspired by working with artists, entrepreneurs and style (read Instagram) influencers. She wanted to express Kendall’s personal style, and she has clearly succeeded. At the first shoot with avant-garde photographer Ryan McGinley, Kendall took over the camera and snapped herself!
For Spring 2018, Ippolita and Kendall worked with photographer Alex Prager. This collection is all about color, so Prager shot Kendall as a Hollywood bombshell, basking on Mediterranean sands. Rich blue and green turquoise stones, accented by sapphire dots, are set in 18K yellow gold, with tsavorite, orange sapphire, clear quartz, mother-of-pearl, amazonite, Swiss blue topaz, and, of course, diamonds.
Bella Hadid for Chrome Hearts
A collaboration between LA-based leather and accessories brand Chrome Hearts and Bella Hadid also debuted in 2017. Bella arrived at her launch party in a rocker-chic leather mini and edgy silver necklaces of her own design. However, Bella’s collection lived somewhat under the radar after that; in fact, only British department store Selfridges carried her pieces.
These days, fans of Chrome Hearts and Bella followers alike can find collectible Chrome Hearts X Bella Hadid silver styles on TheRealReal and eBay. But don’t be surprised to see more jewelry by Bella one of these days. Not only has she surpassed sister Gigi and bestie Kendall in number of endorsements last year (14), she has contracts with Versace, Bulgari, Fendi, and Alexander Wang. So it’s quite possible another supermodel jewelry collection is now on the drawing board.
We can’t wait!
