Win

Lady Gaga walked away with first place Sunday night in OBJ’s inaugural “Best Jewelry at the Grammys” Awards. Some say she dyed her locks grey-white to match her date and duet partner Tony Bennett, but I think it was all about her silver gown and her dazzling diamonds by Lorraine Schwartz.

Gaga’s long diamond and emerald necklace wowed the crowd when she arrived on the Red Carpet. Later, in her performance with Bennett, more spectacular diamonds — a choker and dangling earrings — evoked Old Hollywood glam.

Place

The Most Fashion-Forward Award goes to Taylor Swift, who celebrated the long and short of it in a stunning teal blue Elie Saab design. Her fabulous opal and diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz could have had the Fashion Police shouting “too matchy-matchy,” but the unexpected fuchsia platforms saved the day.

Show

Super Bowl superstar Katy Perry sings like a canary, so she deserves this $2 million canary yellow diamond ring from Harry Kotlar. In a silver backless dress fresh from the Paris runway of Zuhair Murad, Perry announced she wanted to “shine bright like a diamond.”

Honorable Mention

Mary J. Blige’s minimalist fishtail gown sang out for some bling, so her stylist obliged. I couldn’t keep my eyes off Mary J.’s MAJOR diamond cuffs and earrings during her duet with the night’s big winner, Sam Smith. (Wish that jewelry could Stay With Me.)
